Kids Shopping day planned at Thrift Store
The Presho Thrift Store & More will hold a Kids Night at the store Tues. Dec., 13 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm to allow children the opportunity to shop for family members. Youth age 12 and under are invited to bring a shopping list of the people they want to shop for and Thrift Store volunteers will assist them in finding appropriate gifts to fill their shopping list and wrap the gifts. Each child will receive a $10 gift certificate to use towards purchasing their gifts. “We want to make this a fun, learning experience for kids,” said board president Lois Comp. “We want to give them the opportunity to experience the joy of shopping for family members but also to learn that sometimes it’s necessary to budget your money,” said Comp. Comp stated that parents or guardians may drop their children off at the store to shop and pick them up after they complete their purchases and the gifts are wrapped. The local Modern Woodmen Camp led by Laverne Olson donated wrapping paper for the event. The store has a large supply of Christmas related items for sale including decorations, cards, and other supplies. Donations of gently used items including clothes, toys, household items, decorations and furniture are always appreciated. Volunteers are needed to help the children shop and wrap gifts, contact the store at 895-MORE The store will be open Dec. 22 and 23 and closed on Sat. Dec. 24.
